Roland Intelligent Pass Control Technology
VersaCAMM VP-i inkjets feature Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology, our patent-pending technology that virtually eliminates banding by optimizing masking patterns and dot placement at the edge of each pass. With Roland Intelligent Pass Control, consecutive passes are overlapped and feathered so they literally become one continuous image. As a result, finished prints reflect unmatched image quality overall with smoother gradations and dense, flawless solid colors in every print mode.
Roland Intelligent Pass Control also increases productivity by delivering the same print quality at higher speeds. VersaCAMM VP-i inkjets print up to 80 percent faster on banner and 50 percent faster on vinyl in Standard print mode than previous models.
Quadralign
For laminating graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload them for precision cutting. The Quadralign four-point optical registration system automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The VersaCAMM VP-i can also function as a stand-alone vinyl cutter.
ECO-SOL MAX Ink
ECO-SOL MAX is a remarkable innovation in ink technology. Building on Roland’s award-winning eco-solvent ink, ECO-SOL MAX features several new enhancements including faster drying time, higher density, wider color gamut, improved scratch resistance, lower cost per square foot, and broader uncoated media support. In addition, ECO-SOL MAX is virtually odorless and user friendly. ECO-SOL MAX graphics are water, scratch and UV resistant up to 3 years outdoors.*

VersaWorks RIP with Enhanced Productivity Tools
VersaWorks RIP software has been developed exclusively for Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters. This true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP ensures exceptional production output with unmatched ease of use and incorporates the latest Adobe CPSI 3019 engine.
VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system which accurately reproduces more than 1,000 spot colors from color charts and swatch books. With VersaWorks, users can choose from print options including a high-speed mode for production banner printing, the MAX Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics and Artistic mode for exceptional indoor graphics. In addition, VersaWorks features Variable Data Printing and supports up to four Roland devices simultaneously including printers, printer/cutters and cutters. It automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic so you can accurately monitor time and costs.
VersaWorks features include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, software proofing capabilities, error diffusion for outstanding print quality and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options. Support for Roland cutters allows you to pair a Roland cutter with any wide-format or desktop printer for print/cut applications. The PerfCut function produces precision perforated cut lines. VersaWorks 4.0 is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000.
Easy Operation and Maintenance
VersaCAMM VP-i's were engineered from the ground up for easy operation and maintenance with a new compact design tailored for general office and retail environments. A new redesigned LED panel features simplified menu commands for standard operations such as cleaning, test printing, setting origin point and implementing user-defined printing conditions. Media setup is easy as well with eight media presets for print/cut, cutting and heater temperature.
Built-in Heating System
An integrated heating system, which can be set from 95° to 122°F, helps ECO-SOL MAX ink bond to both uncoated and coated media and dry faster. For ease of use, the heating system is controlled from the printer as well as the computer. For energy efficiency, a single source of power runs both the heating system and print/cut mechanism.
Superior Media Handling
The VersaCAMM VP-i delivers superior media handling, allowing you to experience optimum performance on a wide variety of media options. Upgraded media flanges and seven pinch rollers secure the heaviest media in place for accurate feeding and tracking through even the longest production runs. Adjustable print heads enable you to accommodate variable media thicknesses.
VersaCAMMs also feature both long and short removable media guides which are essential when using media with edge curl tendencies. These guides can be removed easily for print/cut applications.
Automated Cleaning System
VersaCAMM VP-i's feature an automated cleaning system which allows for immediate printing at any time, even if the machine has been idle for an extended period of time.
Eco-SOL Media
Eco-SOL Media is developed especially for Roland ECO-SOL MAX ink, featured in VersaCAMM and SOLJET inkjets. It includes a wide selection of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive-back vinyls and other popular substrates. The line-up currently consists of glossy, matte, clear and translucent calendered, premium cast vinyl, premium reflective vinyl, view-through vinyl, flame retardant scrim banner, blockout scrim banner and solvent glossy paper.
Roland also offers an additional 20 materials that optimize VersaCAMM and SOLJET print quality. They include heat transfer material, backlit film, matte artist canvas and a high-quality matte paper in SCM, PQM, PGM, PCM and VSM media line-ups.
Print Speeds
Featuring four print heads, a new faster network board and several additional internal systems upgrades, the VP-i series achieves print speeds of up to 149 sqft./hr. for the VP-540i and 113 sqft./hr. for the VP-300i. The VersaCAMM VP-i’s unique design as a combination printer/cutter further expedites the production cycle, allowing you to print and contour cut your designs together – even unattended – in one easy step.

ECO-SOL MAX boosts the performance of Roland’s VersaCAMM and SOLJET inkjets at low running costs that both you and your customers will appreciate.

Great Print Quality
The VersaCAMM VP-i uses variable droplet technology to precisely control droplet placement in both print head travel and paper feed directions. It can achieve print resolutions of up to 1440 x 1440 dpi.
Media Counter
The VersaCAMM media counter allows users to enter the length of a new roll of media into the printer’s control panel. The counter then tracks media usage, allowing the user to check the amount of media remaining on the roll prior to printing. When media is removed from the printer, the amount remaining can be printed directly onto the leading edge of the roll for future reference.
